Shipping/logistics Manager
Duties:
- Oversee, manage, and execute the shipping department operations, including coordinating and supervising the activities of shipping personnel.
- Develop and implement efficient shipping processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production planning and supply chain, to ensure smooth workflow and optimize shipping operations. Communcation with Vendors on WIP inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, such as damaged goods or delivery delays
- Monitor and analyze shipping data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
-Pallet/box/package finished parts as needed for shipments.
-Effectively communicate and update various customers on part shipment, shipment schedules, parts in WIP onsite and at vendors on a daily basis
-Work with quality and general management on final part inspection before packaging and shipment.
This role will require on production floor shipping labor/tasks as well as office related work. Someone who is flexible and would enjoy working in both environments is needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or associates degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a shipping or logistics environment
- Strong knowledge of operations management principles and practices
- Familiarity with production planning, demand planning, and inventory control processes
- Proficient in using software systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
-The ability to lift a 40lb objects.
